I have a confession to start with.

Most weeks, I sit down on a Sunday morning, open my laptop, and look at the tabs from the week before — Linear, Vercel, Stripe, Supabase, Notion, Figma, Resend, Cal, GitHub, Slack, PostHog, Plausible, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, six different AI tools I tried once and still pay for — and I think:

I have absolutely no idea what I’m running.

Not in a panicked way. In a quiet, unsettling way. The way you feel when you realize you’ve been driving for ten minutes and don’t remember the road.

If you build anything on the side — a product, a kit, a course, a community, a half-formed thing in a Notion doc — you probably know this feeling.

So I’m doing something about it.

Loomwork is a weekly publication about that. About building real things on the side, in public, with a day job, in a stack you can barely keep track of.

I’m Vamshi. By day I work at Birlasoft, with Synchrony — a US bank — as a technical lead and architect. By night, after the day winds down, I build small things that I think should exist.

Right now I’m building one called Foundry — a launcher and stack-tracker for people who run too many tools to remember. It’s not done. It’s not even properly named yet, depending on the mood. You’ll watch me figure it out, week by week, in real time.

Here’s what you’ll get, every Sunday morning:

One thread. 5 to 10 minutes to read. Each one carrying exactly one piece of the build — a decision I had to make, a thing I shipped, a thing that broke, a take I can’t stop thinking about, a lesson from twelve years of architecting systems that I’m finally allowed to talk about because I’m using it on mine.

No “10 things every founder must do.” No engagement-bait listicles. No AI-generated motivation. Just one builder, one publication, one decision at a time, week after week.

Some weeks the thread will be a victory. Most weeks it will be honest. A few will be uncomfortable.
